Well, it had to happen one day.
Hey hey Dad!
Well we're emailing today!
As for transfers, nothing is happening! I'm not moving and
nor is my companion! We still have a lot to do here so I'm glad I'm still here.
We're here to set this area on fire (figuratively)! We're going to see a lot of
miracles here, so we're going to have a lot of fun!
Otherwise I had two switch-off over the past week with the
District leader and the his companion. We saw lots of miracles there, and now
it seems like their area is doing great! Nothing is changing there except the
junior companion, Elder Bennion, is leaving. The Sister Missionaries are
actually going to be a trio now here in Ayutthaya so now the Elders are out
numbered.
Otherwise, the work goes well. Finding solid new
investigators is a tad difficult, but not anything too hard. I know we will
find those who the Lord has prepared.
Otherwise, food I bought from 7/11 was stolen by monkeys
when we went to Lopburi for District Meeting. So that was a sad day. And we
also ate Bird's Nest (the red box with the Chinese Writing on it) over the
course of this week. I think it literally is a bird's nest so it's a little
gross but not as bad as pig blood.
Something I learned over the course of this week is summed
up by a scripture written by Paul the great missionary of the New Testament,
where he said:
"6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap
also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let
him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful
giver." (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
Even so, serving with all of our "heart, might, mind,
and strength with and eye single to the Glory of God" is also a factor. If
we do this, we will be blessed. We know how to serve the Lord and we know what
he wants us to do. We know where we want to go. May I quote President Thomas S.
Monson where he says:
"Let us not find ourselves as indecisive as is Alice in
Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. You will remember
that she comes to a crossroads with two paths before her, each stretching
onward but in opposite directions. She is confronted by the Cheshire cat, of
whom Alice asks,
“Which path shall I follow?”
The cat answers, “That depends where you want to go. If you
do not know where you want to go, it doesn’t matter which path you take.”"
Serving faithfully and happily is a choice. May we choose to
serve the Lord, for surely His way is the way of good and righteousness. We
have just learned from General Conference. Let us apply those things that we
have learned. I personally, have not seen it yet, but I will. Nonetheless, let
us use the words of the prophets and leaders that we have heard from and apply
them in our lives.
Life is good and it should be good. The Gospel is the good
news of the world and we're lucky to have it. I love the Gospel and that I have
the opportunity to share it with the Thai people here as well!
Love you lots! Talk to you soon!
